The Museum of M. R. Štefánik is an integral part of the Slovak National Museum - Museum of the Slovak National Councils. It opened its doors for the general public in 1990. The museum has its seat in the birth-house of M. R. Štefánik in Košariská, which was once an evangelical parish.
The museum has six rooms documenting Štefánik's career, privacy and hobbies, but mainly his military, diplomatic and political activities. The exhibition itself, which consists of almost 200 exhibited items, has a memorial character.
Among the exhibits, you can see personal objects of M. R. Štefánik. These include eg. Štefánik's air jacket, which he wore at the time of the plane crash, personal briefcase with his initials, but also objects of foreign ethnography. The unique atmosphere of the entire exhibition is completed by the interesting thoughts and quotes of this great man.
