Majer’s Rock

Majer's Rock is a unique natural creation. Thanks to its uniqueness and natural exceptionality, it is included in the natural monuments of Slovakia.

It is surrounded by the arms of the finer and rounded silhouettes of the ridges, so you will see this majestic rock formation clearly from a distance. You will find there different species of rare plants but there are also many protected animals living there too - from butterflies and birds to big beasts like a wild cat, a lynx, or even a bear.

The observation rock platform of Majer's rock soars proudly at an altitude of 1283 meters. There on top, you can enjoy a magical view into the distance, but also in the depths of the valley, where you realize that this demanding and steep climb you had to overcome made sense.

Majer's Rock has its charm in every season. In summer and spring, it is covered in colorful flora, in autumn in golden tones and in winter in icy and white beauty.

About a 2-hour ascent to Majer's Rock from the Staré Hory (Old Mountains) is quite challenging due to the elevation that needs to be overcome. You can reach the summit by the blue marked forest path, which changes to steep, narrow and demanding terrain.
