




The permanent exhibition of Mária Medvecká in Tvrdošín is open during the season from April to the end of September (closed on Mondays). The painter's works are installed in the Classicist mansion from the 19th century. More than 250 oil paintings and drawings are exhibited here.
After her studies in Bratislava, Vienna and Prague, Mária Medvecká returned to her native Orava and together with her husband devoted herself to creative work and cultural and educational activities. She became a painter of the native Orava landscape and its people. She is the author of a banknote in the value of 10 crowns, which was valid in the Czechoslovak Republic in 1961 - 1988.
The gallery of Maria Medvecka in Tvrdošín is open to the public free of charge throughout the season.
