In Ružomberok, directly below the Church of St. Ondrej, you can find Andrej Hlinka Mausoleum, also known as the Andrej Hlinka Memorial. The construction of the mausoleum began in 1939. In September 1944, the mausoleum was bombed and subsequently in 1945 Hlinka's remains were moved to up to now unknown place.
The mausoleum itself has two parts chapel with a central entrance and a tomb. In addition to the coffin, the marble-lined interior of the tomb includes a bust of A. Hlinka along with a stainless steel cross. In 2007, the National Council of the Slovak Republic passed the Act of Merit of Andrej Hlinka, according to which the mausoleum is considered to be a memorial place.
The mausoleum is open to the public. Tourists can ask for it to be opened at the municipal office, which is located next to the mausoleum.
