The birthhouse of the leading figure of the second wave of Slovak realism, J.G. Tajovský, stands intact, serried by the beautiful nature of Tajov. This beautiful house with a typical rural atmosphere was built in 1799.

At present, the Memorial House of Jozef Gregor Tajovský is a cultural monument that can authentically tell the life of the family of J.G.Tajovský.

The house has 5 rooms:

• Entrance room - which captures the history of the village.

• Second and third room - dedicated to the life and literary work of a prominent Slovak writer J.G. Tajovskeho.

• Fourth room - has an ethnographic character, where the original interior of the pit was preserved with a fireplace and a smokehouse.

• Fifth Room - documents the life and work of Tajovsky's wife, the writer Hana Gregorová.

The memorial house is part of the Literary and Music Museum in Banská Bystrica. It is open on request and must be reported in advance by telephone
