In Turčianske Teplice, in a beautiful environment near the spa park, in the middle of a large garden, there is a birth house of Mikuláš Galanda - an important Slovak painter, graphic artist and illustrator. The birth house of M. Galanda is declared a national cultural monument and in 1987, its premises were adapted for exhibition purposes by the Turčianska Gallery in Martin.
On the ground floor, there is a permanent exhibition of works by Mikuláš Galanda. Visitors have the opportunity to view 34 reproductions of the pink and blue periods and one original - a painting called "Quarry", which is located in the original painting stand. There are also samples of illustrations that Galanda prepared for the books of writers and poets.
Visitors to the gallery can also see the personal objects of the Galanda family - birth and marriage certificate, photographs of parents, wife and siblings, as well as genealogy. On the painter's original work table, you can find his monograph by Zita Kostrová. A non-traditional film documentary about the life and work of Mikuláš Galanda is also very popular among the visitors.
The gallery is used for various cultural events. Vernissages of contemporary authors are regularly held in representative historical premises on the first floor. The gallery regularly organizes discussions with artists and the district round Slávik Slovakia competition . In the gallery, it is possible to buy various commemorative items - postcards, magnets, books.
