The Astronomical Clock has become an essential part of the village of Špania Dolina, as well as a popular and sought-after attraction. It is a unique musical astronomical clock located directly on the municipal square.
The astronomical clock is in fact a kind of shrunken model of the mines of Špania Dolina. The closed rock wall of this astronomical clock opens wide every hour to show the intense work of the colliers in the depths of the copper mine in Špania Dolina.
There is a church in the upper surface part, several houses and a shaft building. The mine itself is full of figurines - miners who separate the rock, carry it, load it on the carts, or pull it up to the surface via shaft. In the right part of the astronomical clock, there is a coloured statue of st. Clement - patron of miners.
