If you want to see with your own eyes and feel for yourself what kind of way of life and living was led by traditional mining family, head straight to the village Vyšná Boca in Liptov. In a beautiful lap of nature, there is a wooden cottage, which seems to be made from a fairy tale.
Mining house in Vyšná Boca has original and authentic equipment, which was provided for museum purposes by its last owner Daniel Böhmer. The Mining House has a five-room layout and even has an original heating system. Each of the rooms in this house had its own function.
The entrance area is a pit, the front room was only occasionally occupied room. In the back room, which used to be used for sleeping and daily life, there is now an exposition of mining history around Vyšná Boca. The house has also two chambers, one of which served for occasional sleep and also storing duvets and clothes. The second chamber was used for storing farm dishes and food.
The exposition, which is dedicated to livestock, sheep and grassland management, is installed in a farm facility, the so-called "Stables". During the summer, visitors can also enjoy accompanying programs, such as demonstrations of traditional forms of transporting hay“ called "Bocké batohy” or occasional events dedicated to the mining traditions of the Bocianska Valley.
