The tiny village of Lisková, situated in the western part of the Liptov Basin on the Váh River, is rich in natural wealth. The location is interesting in terms of increased concentration of natural attractions as well as nature reserves. One of them is the nature reserve called Mohylky.
It is a hill in the northeast of the village, where there is a protected site of a large number of exquisitely preserved Mesozoic fossils in limestone. The protected site is set up to protect a mass finding of paleontological fossilized remains of eocene (numulite) animals from 50 million years ago.
In the area of the nature reserve, the 4th degree of protection applies and therefore you can admire rare and ancient fossils only with your eyes. Mohylky Nature Reserve is well accessible from the village of Lisková. The location is located directly on the road and is well visible. In addition, there is also an information board for visitors, near which there is a bench.
