Above the village of Smolenice, in the dense forests of the Little Carpathians, there used to be a prehistoric and a Slavic hillfort. Choosing this place for a trip brings an experience for big and small nature and history enthusiasts.
Hradisko was situated on Molpír Hill, about 0.5 km from Smolenice. At present, you will find here only the remains of fortifications, dwellings, fusing furnaces, towers, fortified gates, sacrifice places or water tanks carved into the rock. The location is one of the most important archaeological sites of the early Iron Age (Hallstatt culture) in the Central European region.
Since the educational trail with information boards leads to the hill of Molpír and to the same fortified settlement, during the walk you can learn more about this place as well as the life of the inhabitants of the hillfort.
The road to the hillfort is easy and can be managed by all ages. The first stop of the educational trail is located near the church in Smolenice. During the ascent you will be accompanied by a magnificent view of the Smolenice Castle.
