Description
The building of the city reduta in Fiľakovo was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Since then, it has become a center of social and cultural events in the city. This is no different today. The Municipal Reduta is the seat of the Municipal Homeland Museum and the Municipal Library.
Within the museum, visitors can see a permanent exhibition entitled "From the Palm Tree to the World Famous Rooster", which maps the history of the city since the the castle became ruin in 1682 to the 1960s, emphasizing the traditions of the local Kovosmalt industrial plant. the multiethnic character of the microregion. The exhibition is thematically linked to the permanent exhibition of the Castle Museum in Fiľakovo.
The museum also includes gallery spaces, where short-term exhibitions of fine art are regularly presented.
