The village of Veľké Rovné, located near the town of Bytča, is especially known for tinkering. In the past, it was the most important center of tinker craft in the whole of Slovakia. However, even nowadays the locals do not forget this rich tinker history and try to bring the tinkering traditions closer to the young generation through the Museum of Tinker Craft.
The museum is located in one of the oldest buildings in the center of the village. It has one permanent exhibition, which, through more than two hundred authentic objects, presents mainly tinker craft, which is inextricably linked with the history of the village. It also maps important historical events, natural conditions and everyday life of its inhabitants.
The Museum of Tinker Craft is open on weekdays on request, otherwise it is necessary to make an appointment in advance at the local municipal office.
