The Natural History Museum in Bratislava is part of the Slovak National Museum as an important natural science institution. The museum is located in a purpose-built building on Vajanské nábrežie. It makes available to the public natural science expositions and short-term exhibitions.

The Museum's collection can boast over 2.4 million items, with the majority of the collection being on permanent exhibitions and the other being presented at various exhibition events.

The Natural History Museum offers 4 permanent exhibitions:

• The Miracle of Nature - The Story of Life on Earth - a paleontological exposition that presents the evolution and diversity of long-extinct communities of organisms on Earth.

• Miracle of Nature - Biodiversity of Slovakia - situated in four rooms, in which it brings the living nature of Slovakia closer.

• The Miracle of Nature - Earth's Biodiversity - is designed to familiarize visitors with the living and inanimate nature of different environments on Earth.

• Miracle of Nature - Earth Jewels - mineralogical exposition presenting over 1100 samples of more than 700 kinds of minerals from Slovak and foreign localities.
