Observatory in Michalovce

On the hill of Hrádok in Michalovce in the Mousson's House, there is an observation located. It is a specialized institution that actively contributes to the development of science and scientific knowledge.

You can see the observatory building from a distance thanks to two large domes of five and three meters diamater. In the smaller one, there are mirror binoculars and seats to allow visitors to relax and observe.

There is also a multi-purpose lecture hall in the building where movement games or teaching can be carried out. Part of the observatory is also a space for intimate screening of films or observing perseids for the public.

Spaces around the observatory are arranged with interlocking pavement, lawn, but also with lighting. There is also an educational planetary path built here and a rest zone.

For the general public, the observatory organizes evening sky observations, which are very popular among visitors. Besides observations, the Observatory in Michalovce also organizes lectures, discussions, video programs and various other events.
