In the historical heart of Pezinok, there is a Renaissance town hall building. It was built in the middle of the 17th century on the site of the town spa and Weltz House. Currently, the building houses various restaurants, bars, a wine bar and a tourist information center. The largest part of the space is occupied by the City Museum, which was first opened in 2003.
The City Museum offers visitors a permanent exhibition based on objects obtained from archaeological research. The exhibition is divided into three parts, according to the historical period and place of research.
The first part describes the research of prehistoric sites in the area of Pezinok and Slovenský Grob. In the second part of the exposition are presented researches carried out in the defunct medieval fortified positions "Old Castle I" and "Old Castle II". The last part of the exposition presents research from the urban area of the town. Many of the exhibits in this section come from research of the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the burgher house in the historic center of Pezinok.
Among other things, the City Museum places great emphasis on cooperation with Pezinok's children and youth. Therefore, it regularly organizes various meetings or projects aimed at increasing the interest of children and young people in regional history.
