If you desire for artistic experience, magnificent works and intimate atmosphere, you can enjoy all this in the Orava Gallery in Dolný Kubín. The Orava Gallery is housed in the historic county house from the 17th century on Hviezdoslav Square. The collection has more than 8,000 works of art and has long been the second most visited gallery in Slovakia.
Exhibits from the 15th to the 21st century are among the rarest in Slovakia. The Gallery can rightly boast of up to five permanent exhibitions and four other spaces for short-term exhibitions.
Every year you can enjoy the perfect artistic experience of 10 - 12 short-term exhibitions of Slovak and foreign fine art in the reconstructed exhibition areas.
In addition to exhibitions, the Orava Gallery prepares other animation and educational programs and cultural events for its visitors. It also provides lecturer guidance, workshops for children and youth, as well as concerts and theatre performances.
