Diverse and beautiful mountain range of Strážovské Mountains offer excellent tourism in its northern part, diversified by impressive rock formations belonging to the hill of Ostrá Malenica. Although it is the highest peak of this locality, it is not one of the most visited.
The top of Ostrá Malenica is partly forested. However, the access ridge will offer you truly charming views. You can admire Strážov, Kľak, Manina or Považská Bystrica. In addition to the viewpoints, you can also admire the dolomite rock towers, by which the ridge is dotted.
In the surroundings of Ostrá Malenica, there are also several caves, crevices and chasms. Among the well-known and accessible caves is the Mojtínska Cave, which is 46 m long. Nowadays, there is a statue of St. Joseph in ife size.
If the climb to Ostrá Malenice is not enough for you, just look around. The area is full of many picturesque hills, such as Rohatín, Dievča, Rakytník, Tupý hrádok, Svinské Chlievy. You can reach Ostrá Malenica by the green marked hiking trail from the villages of Slopná (about 5km) or Mojtín (about 4km).
