Pieniny are a beautiful part of Slovakia. They hide beautiful jewels, which are the creation of an extremely strong nature. They offer unforgettable and colourful tourism in the most charming places. One of them is Plašná Hill.
Plašná Hill is the highest peak on the Slovak side of Central Pieniny and is located in the Pieniny National Park. The southern slopes of this hill are a popular tourist destination. There is a known complex of limestone rocks - Haligovské Rocks - which you can admire from the top.
Plašná offers very pleasant and relatively undemanding tourism. The hill is wooded, but there are remains of extinct terraced fields. From there, you can enjoy a nice semi-circular view of Spišská Magura, Tatras or Malé Pieniny.
The hill is easily accessible by marked hiking trails from the villages of Červený Kláštor (about 4 km), Lesnica, Haligovce or Veľký Lipník. The circular route from Červený Kameň through Dunajec Breakthrough and the Breakthrough of Lesnícky Creek, to Plašná with Haligovské Rocks and back to Červený Kláštor is very popular among tourists (total length of the route is approximately 15 km).
