The Podjavorina Museum is housed in a Baroque building from the 17th century, also called the Giláni's House in Nové Mesto nad Váhom. It was founded in 1951 and since the 1970s, it has focused mainly on the cultural and literary history of the Trenčín region.
Visitors can view an interesting exhibition dedicated to the history of Nové Mesto and its surroundings, its culture and traditions. It is divided into individual parts devoted to archeology, history, ethnography, the history of craft guilds and local church history.
The exhibition named as “Farm Room”, which presents the rich folk culture and traditional living of the inhabitants of the Nové Mesto region, is certainly very valuable and charming. The method of folk dressing is documented by the characteristic types of folk clothing that visitors can also admire.
