Pokutský waterfall is located in the Protected Landscape Area of Ponitrie. Pokutsky waterfall or also Waterfall on Pokutsky creek is the only known and distinctive in the Vtáčnik mountain range.
One of the short tributaries of the Pokutský stream falls through a set of beautiful, perpendicularly trimmed andesites, creating a waterfall surrounded by forest. There is nothing else to hear, except the beautiful raging water.
There are two ways to reach the Pokutský Waterfall. One leads from the village of Kľak (about 5 km) along a marked hiking trail to Vtáčnik Hill. At Partizánská Cottage, however, turn right on the unmarked road. The second road leads from the southern end of the village Ostrý Grúň. It is mostly an asphalt road leading through the Pokutský Bridge and along the Pokutský stream.
It is best to choose the period of spring or after rains to come here, when the waterfall is the most beautiful and strongest. It is also beautiful in winter. **In dry season, it is dull and disappears.
