In the Western Tatras, where the Slovak-Polish border meets, lies the sprawling Pyšné sedlo (Proud Saddle). This alpine saddle is characterized by the fact that it is one of the lowest situated lowlands of the Tatra mountain barrier.
The saddle is full of beautiful views that you will fall in love with. Deep valleys will spread under you, both in the Slovak territory and in Poland. The very top is covered with grass, but also with dwarf trees due to its altitude.
The red tourist sign ends in the saddle as well as the blue tourist sign leading from Podbanské. However, if you have enough power, you can continue along the unmarked sidewalk to the hill of Veľká Kamenistá, in the area of the saddle, there is an abundant occurrence of bears, and therefore it is necessary to be careful during tourism.
The traditional starting point for hikes to the saddle as well as the surrounding area is Podbanské - along the blue mark. The ascent takes about 3 hours.
