The city of Žilina has been an important road junction since ancient times, as well as an important railway junction. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Žilina - Rajec line, the idea of building a museum of transport in the Rajecké Teplice railway station was born.
Visitors to this museum have the opportunity to see with their own eyes the real railway track, the technique used on the railway in the past or a demonstration of the historical transport office. Children can play with the historical model track. All exhibits as well as static demonstrations are complemented by a large amount of visual material that will help the visitor briefly get to know the development of traffic throughout Slovakia.
The Museum of Transport has one permanent exhibition entitled “From the History of Transport in Slovakia”. The exposure consists of three parts:
older transport history
railway section
part of road transport in the 20th century, focusing on historic motorcycles Ariel, Manet 90 or Penta
