Description
For more than 175 years, it has stood in one place, crouched under a huge boulder called the Ohnisko (Fireplace). It is a high mountain rocky cottage with a touch of history.
It is located not far from Skalnate pleso (Rocky Mountain Lake), near railway leading from Hrebienok to Skalnaté pleso. Visitors can stop here, refresh themselves and enjoy the atmosphere of the Tatras in the true alpine chalet with a rich history.
The cottage is operated by a well-known Tatra carrier, a recorder, Laco Kulanga. For example, in 1993 he carried a load of 207.5 kg from Hrebienok to Zamkovský Cottage.
Access to the Rocky Cottage is, in addition to the mentioned railway, also from Tatranská Lomnica along the green trail on foot (about 2 h 45 min), or by cable car (just about 13 minutes).
The cottage has also 8 beds for overnight, bathroom or toilet. The dining room offers hot and cold dishes. In winter, it turns to a great resort for skiers who come here to warm up and in the summer, it is possible to sit on the terrace with parasols and admire the beautiful Tatra nature.
