




Wandering around Roháče hills is an indescribable experience for many nature and tourism enthusiasts. It is a beautiful location with excellent access, which welcomes with its full beauty many tourists from Slovakia, but also from abroad.
One of the attractions of this mountain range are picturesque Roháče Mountain Lakes, which represent the system of lakes at the end of the Roháče Valley surrounded by the impressive scenery of the Western Tatras.
The four main lakes are located in the terraces above each other in the Smutná Valley and are among the lowest system of glacial lakes in Europe. Others lie on the descent through the Spálená Valley.
You can get to know Roháč lakes if you go along the educational trail with the same name. The length of the route is approximately 4.5 km and the individual information boards will inform you about the history and offer you interesting facts about these unique glacier lakes. However, for safety reasons, this educational trail is only open from 1 June to 1 November.
The surroundings of Roháče mountain lakes are rich in hikes for tourists of physical fitness of all levels. Families with children will enjoy unpretentious walks in the surroundings and those more capable can look forward to properly exposed tours and ascents.
