The charming Roháčsky waterfall enriches nature in the Western Tatras, in the popular Roháčska valley near the equally famous Roháčske mountain lakes. The waterfall is situated on Studený potok at 1340 m above sea level and it will enchant you not only with its environment, but also with its impressive height of 23 meters.
Many may be surprised that there are actually two waterfalls - the Upper and the Lower Roháčsky waterfall - but they are referred to as one entity. The Lower Roháčsky waterfall is cascading in shape and lies approximately 100 meters below Vyšný. No official route leads to it and the transition is quite dangerous.
The route to Roháčsky waterfall is not long, but is more difficult due to the climb. From the parking lot at the Roháče - Spálená ski resort (approx. 4km), there is a green hiking trail, which later connects to the redmarked trail to the crossroads of Adamcuľa, where you cross the blue trail.
You can get to know the Roháčsky waterfall as well as the surroundings by walking along the educational trail Roháčske plesá. It is a medium-demanding all-day route, which is also popular with families with children. However, the Roháčske Plesa educational trail is open only from 31 June to 1 November.
