One of the interesting exhibits of the Danube Region Museum, which enjoys immense popularity, is the Roman Lapidary. The exhibition is installed in the southern part of the bastion, which is a monumentally restored object of the fortification system of the town of Komárno.
Lapidary presents beautiful Roman stone sculptures, tombstones and their fragments, altar stones, dedication plates, sarcophagi and eleven copies. Most of the exhibits come from the 2nd - 4th century from the Roman border fortifications of Brigetio and Celemantia, which were built near Komárno.
The most interesting exhibits of the Lapidary include a torso of relief with the mythological motif of Phaedra's love for Hippolyte, a portrait of Emperor Commodus, an altar dedicated to Jupiter, as well as the inscription of Roman soldiers from the year 179/180 on the castle rock in Trenčín.
