Dolná Krupá is a place where the tradition of growing roses has deep roots, and for it's development we owe to Countess Mária Henrieta Choteková, who lived in the years 1863-1946 in the mansion, whose park is directly adjacent to the area of Medolandia. Her rose garden, with its variety of varieties, was ranked among the largest on the European continent. With her persistent work and passion for roses, she gained recognition not only from the professional public, but also from the inhabitants of Dolná Krupa, who started calling her the "rose countess". She was also a great inspiration for us in building this beautiful place.
Right here, just a few meters from the place of the Countess's original garden we planted more than 1000 roses. One of them is Rosengräfin Marie Henriette (Pink Countess Mária Henriette), which was bred in her honor on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of her birth by the world-famous German rose company KORDES. We also use flakes from this unusually beautiful and fragrant rose in the production of our excellent Mária Henrieta mead.
Come enjoy the beauty of a thousand roses and experience the authenticity of this place that connects the past with the present.
