On the wooded hill of Hrádok, which rises on the western edge of the Štiavnické Hills, a medieval castle of Bzenica once stood. The remains of a relatively large castle have been preserved only the remains of the walls and the relief of the castle.
The castle was founded during the 13th century by the Archbishop of Esztergom. Later, Matthew Csák took possession of the castle, as the location of the castle allowed control of the Hron Valley, through which significant roads passed to the mining towns.
Today, this site is popular especially among locals, because it offers a simple walk ended with beautiful views. The ruins of the castle are easily accessible on the hiking trail from the village of Tekovská Breznica (about 1.5km).
