On a small hill in the cadastre of the village of Hontianske Tesáre - Dvorníky, on the right bank of the river Štiavnice, in the part called Patkôš, there are the remains of a sacred building - the Romanesque Church of St. Michael. The church belongs to a series of sacral buildings, which in the past lined the important imperial-royal postal route Magna Via.
In the fall of 1990, during deep plowing in a field located on this hill, an unknown underground space was encountered. Local residents speculated about a secret passage connecting the monastery of red monks on Patkôš with Sitno hill. However, the mystery was finally solved in the spring of 1991, when PhDr. Václav Hanuliak led rescue archaeological research. The underground space turned out to be a tomb that was part of the defunct Church of St. Michael.
The church is mentioned for the first time in the list of papal tithes from 1332. In a written report from 1367, it is stated that St. to Michal. Church of St. Until the end of the 18th century, Michal was used jointly by the residents of Hontianske Tesár and Dvorník, who formed one common church choir. In the middle of the 19th century, however, it was abandoned, it gradually fell into disrepair, and its ruins were covered by the ground. For long decades, he disappeared not only from the surface of the earth, but also from people's consciousness.
