Prielom Saddle - 2290 m asl

he Prielom Saddle is certainly well-known Tatra tourists. It is one of the most accessible saddles of the main ridge of the High Tatras. It separates the Wild Tower and the shield of Východná Vysoká Peak, and also connects the Great Cold Valley and Bielovodská Valley.

Crossing the Prielom saddle is more challenging and requires good fitness as well as good weather. Some sections of the ascent route are a bit of an adrenaline experience as they are covered with chains and metal risers.

Due to its altitude, it is necessary to reckon with the cold weather and the roaring wind. From the saddle, you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks as well as the deep Tatras valleys.

You must be properly prepared and take a proper alpine gear to climb the Prielom Saddle. You can start your hike in Starý Smokovec, Tatranská Polianka or Lysá Poľana.
