The Exposition of Icons, which is one of the permanent expositions of the Šariš Museum in Bardejov, is the only independent specialized exposition of iconographic monuments of the Eastern Rite in Slovakia. It offers visitors a unique view of rare icons - paintings on wood from the 16th to the mid-19th century, where it is possible to follow the development of iconographic creation of the Carpathian icons.
Other rare and interesting exhibits include icons on canvas with the theme of the Last Judgment, embroidered ecclesiastical robes and rich ecclesiastical furnishings. Visitors will also be attracted by the complete rococo iconostasis from the wooden church of Zboj from 1766. The icons of the Šariš Museum were presented at many foreign exhibitions. They achieved their greatest success at the EXPO-70 World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan in 1970.
