Elegantly dressed gentleman in a tailcoat who smiles at all passers-by and removes the cylinder from his head to greet them. This is the legendary statue of Schöne Naci, which stands at the Mayer Café on the Main Square. Schöne Náci, in his own name Ignác Lamár, was one of the favorite personalities of the old Prešporok.
The witnesses knew him as a decent, quiet and poor man, but he was always nicely dressed, extremely heartfelt, and despite his difficult life, his smile was still on his lips. He enrolled in the hearts of Bratislava citizens forever.
Thanks to the life-size bronze statue, Schöne Náci can give joy to this day. The statue, in honor of the monument of Ignác Lamár, was created by academic sculptor Juraj Meliš. The remains of Ignác Lamár are stored in the Ondrej Cemetery in Bratislava. He is buried next to another well-known Bratislava personality, Július Satinsky.
