Skalná Alpa is a distinctive, sharp peak of the ridge of the Greater Fatra mountain range. It is situated between the villages of Ľubochňa, Liptovská Osada and Liptovské Revúce. The majority of the site is currently protected by the highest level of protection.
Skalná Alpa will enchant you with its wild nature, vast meadows full of flowers and herbs, pastures with sheep, but also dense and mysterious coniferous forests.
It is worth mentioning the relic occurrence of dwarf trees on rocky and steep slopes just below the summit of Skalná alps, as well as the well-preserved complex of mountain forests with examples of forest and mountainous communities. Since there are no visible signs of human activity, it has all the attributes of the primeval forest.
Skalná Alpa is available on marked hiking trails mostly from Podsuchá - Ružomberok (about 10 km) or Ľubochňa - Blatná (about 8 km).
