




Next to the parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Rajecká Lesná, there is a carved movable Slovak Nativity Scene, created by master Jozef Pekara in the years 1980 - 1997. It is the largest woodcarving of its kind in the world and an exceptional creation of the world format.
The Nativity Scene is situated in the midst of an impressive carved work, and all the Slovak regions are represented around it by their most famous sites and monuments.
Rajecká Lesná is a place of pilgrimage and near the Nativity Scene, there is a calvary with a the way of the Cross, at the end of which is the Church of the Ascension of the Lord. A healing spring flows under the calvary.
