Description
Medzilaborce is an important center of Ruthenian and Ukrainian culture. This is one of the reasons why the Orthodox sacred building - Church of the Holy Spirit - has been erected on the mound of the town center since 1949. Every visitor coming to the town will be attracted by its unique architecture and massive construction.
The Church of the Holy Spirit was made nn the Old Russian Renaissance style, and therefore, in addition to the exceptional exterior facade, every visitor can expect no less pompous decorated interior. Brightly colored precious paintings and up to 350 icons create an unrepeatable spiritual atmosphere.
The temple still serves its purpose today. Masses are carried out there on daily basis. The town endeavors to preserve a fully functional temple in its original form for future generations.
