On the hill of Grapa above the little village of Klin, there is a unique rarity - a monumental statue of Jesus Christ, which is a copy of the famous Brazilian statue in Rio de Janeiro. This monument was created by a local folk master and is the highest statue of the Savior in Slovakia. The statue reaches a height of 9.5 m and a weight of up to 23 tons. Its hands point to the whole of Orava they are supposed to protect.
There is a beautiful view of the landscape of Orava from the hill on which the monument is located. The surroundings of the monument are beautifully decorated, there are benches, a summer-house and many flowers. As a result, Grapa Hill is an ideal cruise destination for all who want to enjoy not only physical but also mental peace.
Although you can drive up to the statue, we advise you to park under the hill and go a few altitude meters on foot. The hill is a steep and it's definitely not an east walk. However, it is a little bit of physical exertion that will certainly benefit you.
