If you want to climb the highest peak in the immediate vicinity of Bardejov, you should go to the legendary Stebnícka Magura. This hill offers not only the most beautiful parts of Slovak nature, but also a bit of the history of our ancestors. It is a relatively little known hill spreading out in our smallest mountain range of Busov. You can easily recognize Stebnícka Magura for TV tower, which is mounted on its top. This is also the location of the famous hiking trail: Route of Heroes of the Slovak National Uprising. At the same time, the summit is declared a National Nature Reserve, as rare plant communities are present.
Stebnícka Magura is characterized by dense vegetation and therefore it is not possible to expect views here. Stebnícka Magura offers rather excellent and peaceful rest in the lap of nature. Thanks to the shelter, wooden benches, tables and fireplace you can roast in the circle of your friends or other tourist enthusiasts.
Several hiking trails lead to the top of Stebnícka Magura. Popular starting points are Zborov (about 6 km), Vyšný Tvarožec (about 6 km), but also Bardejov Spa (about 7 km). For those who do not want to wander in the forest, there is an excellent asphalt road leading from the village of Zlaté.
