Not too big, but still very captivating Strážovské waterfalls put the finishong touch to the wild character of dazzling nature below Strážovské Saddle at an altitude of about 800 m above sea level. Strážovské waterfalls are part of the National Nature Reserve Strážov in the Protected Landscape Area of Strážovské vrchy. The waterfalls form the Strážovský stream and there are basically two waterfalls- the Upper and the Lower Strážovský waterfall. Both are only a short distance from each other.
The water flows down massive rock steps from 6 (Lower Waterfall) and 9 (Upper Waterfall) meters. The surroundings are mainly in spring and summer covered with rich vegetation. In summer, they provide a pleasant refreshment, but show their greatest strength especially after the rainy season and spring. In winter, everything is wrapped in white cover and ice.
Strážovské waterfalls represent a pleasant stop on the way to the highest peak of the Strážov Hills - Strážov, as the route leads over the waterfalls. However, there is no officially marked path leading directly to them. The starting point for hikes to the waterfalls can be Červíková cottage or village of Zliechov (about 3.5 km).
