If you are looking for the oldest nature reserve from the old days of Hungary Kingdom, you will find it in the village of Lehôtka pod Brehmi. Since 1907, it has been the oldest protected geological site in Slovakia.
Szabó's Rock is a 90-meter-high rock formation formed by volcanic activity, typical for this area and mountains. It belongs to Protected Landscape Area of Štiavnické Mountains.
It was named after the Hungarian geologist Jozef Szabó, who made geological research in the Štiavnické Mountains. Szabó's Rock is an impressive stone entrance to the Teplá Valley. Also interesting is its color, which is formed by pink and gray ryolith.
A short yellow hiking trail leads from the village of Lehôtka pod Brehmi to Szabó's Rock. The easy route is manageable in about 30 minutes. A wooden cross is placed on top of it.
From an altitude of 302 m, you will also find a remarkable view of the surrounding villages of Žiarska Basin and, above all, the majestic Vtáčnik Mountains.
