The Barrow on the Bradlo Hill is a reverent place where Milan Rastislav Štefánik is buried - one of the most important Slovaks and co-founder of the first independent Czechoslovak state. At the same time, the barrow is a symbol of the independence and freedom of our nation and a memorial of a significant historical event, when Slovaks were included among the free nations of the world.
The Barrow on the Bradlo Hill was built in 1927-28. Its creator is architect Dušan Jurkovič and the monument is 65.5 m wide and 95.5 m long. It is built of travertine.
There is an asphalt road leading to the barrow as weel as an undemanding, 1.8 km long, hiking trail from Brezová on the Bradlo and also marked trails and cycling routes from the surrounding villages.
