It is known about the town of Skalica that in the past, there were many mills that grinded flour for bread or the famous Trdelník cake. One of them was the originally water mill, which was bought by the Pilárik brothers in the 1920s.
The old mill was demolished and a new modern three-storey mill with electric drive was built. The mill then served to locals and surrounding villages for decades until 1962, when it was finally closed.
Currently, the mill is being renovated and made available to the public. The whole area has its unique atmosphere. Its premises are like cut out from the interwar period of the Czechoslovak Republic.
The mill and other interesting perfectly preserved monuments can be viewed free of charge during weekends in the summer tourist season. You will find exact information on official sites of Skalica.
