The village of Santovka, as you can guess from its name, is widely known mainly for its mineral springs, recreation and spa. Just mineral springs result in remarkable travertine formations.
The Travertine Hill in Santovka (or tufa rubble) is a natural monument situated in the centre of the village. In 1958, this site was declared a protected natural creation.
It is a 5 meter travertine rubble with diameter of 40 meters. On its top, there is a small crater without a pond and at its foot, you will find a modified mineral spring, also called mineral water. The history of this mineral water dates back to the times of Austria - Hungary.
There is a place for taking water as well as a bench for sitting in the shade of trees. You will also find an installed information board that will inform you about acidulous water and its healing effects.
