In the local mountains, near the village of Sucháň, there is a remarkable rock with dimensions of approx. 3.5 m in length, 2.5 m in width and 1 m in height. There are two small openings in the rock, and all the charm of the rock that was named “trumpeting” lies precisely in them. If you blow through these holes properly, you will hear a majestic tone that can be heard far and wide.
This precious stone is said to have served as a signaling device at the time of the Turkish occupation. It is therefore a human creation. The stone is carved in addition to two holes and a year. The trumpeting stone attracts quite a lot of tourists every year, not only from Slovakia but also from abroad.
A nature trail along the green trail from the village Sucháň leads to the stone. You can get here in about an hour and a half on foot. The route is also suitable for cyclists. The pavement is lined with information panels with facts and legends.
