The Turčianska Gallery is housed in the architecturally significant Župný dom, located in the very center of Martin, where rich historical heritage is harmoniously blended with modern visual art. This impressive 17th-century building once served as a meeting hall, court seat, archive, and treasury; today, it provides a dignified space for the presentation of art and culture. As a museum-type institution with regional reach, it offers visitors more than 700 m² of exhibition and presentation areas.
The exhibitions are characterized by vaulted spaces and generous vistas, enhancing the experience of the displayed works. Visitors have the opportunity to admire artworks connected to the city of Martin and the Turiec region, alongside works by distinguished Slovak and international artists. The permanent exhibition, Legenda – la ganda – Galanda, is dedicated to Mikuláš Galanda, one of the most prominent figures in Slovak visual art, who was born in nearby Turčianske Teplice.
The Turčianska Gallery regularly organizes exhibitions of both established and emerging artists, providing a platform for the presentation of contemporary artistic trends. Its location on Daxnerova Street in the pedestrian zone ensures easy accessibility and comfort for all visitors. The gallery is a place where history naturally converges with art, offering an inspiring environment for appreciating cultural values.
