Choosing to go to Little Fatra and not to overcome the Upper Janošík's Holes would be a big mistake that you would later regret.
The starting point for discovering the corners and beauties of the natural canyons and gorges of Jánošík's holes is the village of Terchová. They are located about 2.5 kilometers from the village centre and can be easily reached by car.
If you decide to conquer the Upper Holes (large ones) in the Little Fatra Mountains, prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience of sightseeing towers.
The road through the Upper Holes, which is considered the most beautiful and interesting part of this canyon system, leads through the cliffs over the metal bridges and ladders across the river.
However, the splashing water causes the footbridges and ladders to be slippery, so be careful. The hike is therefore rather suitable for adults and more experienced tourists.
The road to Upper Holes are one-way only and for the descent back to Terchová serves the green-marked path. If you want to extend the hike, you can continue to the Medzirozsutce Saddle and climb to Greater Rozsutec or Little Rozsutec.
In the winter, the Upper Holes are closed for tourists.
