Description
Have you been tempted by a hike to the Little Carpathians, but you cannot decide which of Small Carpathian hills should your steps lead to? And what about the ascent to Vápenná - an extremely popular mountain with all tourism enthusiasts.
Vápenná, also called Roštún, is the third highest peak of the Little Carpathians. It will enjoy you with the beautiful views of hills of Vysoká or Veľká Homoľa and the way to the top leads through the beech forest. If you speculate where to go with children, this trip is ideal for the little ones.
The peak of Vápenná itself is marked by a four-meter column with a small viewing platform. The captivating view you get is literally endless. Directly below your feet, the woods will be stretching through the whole horizon.
The ridge is also attractive, and it is worth going further down the red marked trail. Vápenná welcomes you with its limestone and dolomite boulders that protrude from the wooded terrain. For this reason, Vápenná was** once a sought-after training site for mountaineers.**
