Vartovka in Krupina is a guard tower of a square ground plan, approximately 13 meters high. It was built around 1564. Its main task was, along with other guard towers in the neighborhood, to inform about the impending danger. For example, about approaching Turks or rebel or imperial troops.
Today, Vartovka is freely accessible and serves as a lookout tower of the wide surroundings of the Štiavnica Mountains and the Krupina Plain. Pedestrian trail starts from the centre of Krupina along the blue marked path. A pleasant walk takes about one hour. It is also accessible by car.

„Vartovka - dajte si pozor, extrémne nebezpečné schody, jeden chybný krok a môžte zo schodiska vypadnúť. Určite to nieje vôbec vhodné pre deti. Odporúčam správcovi urobiť buď podstatne vyššie zábradlie alebo inštalovať postranné ochranné siete.“
