In the popular and very popular Velická Valley situated in the beautiful surroundings of the High Tatras, there is a fabulous, glittering Velické Lake. It lies at an altitude of 1665 meters above sea level near the famous Silesian House. Velické Mountain Lake is also the largest mountain lake of this valley.
Hike to Velické Mountain Lake is a medium demanding, but beautiful nature awaits you there. The panorama of the vast Velické Lake and the slimy Silesian House is simply magical and certainly worth the effort to climb. When you are satisfied with views of Velické Lake, continue to Velický Waterfall.
Velický Waterfall is of glacial origin. It is approximately 15 meters high and reaches a width of 4 meters. Velický Waterfall can be visited only from 16 June to 31 October. Around Velický Waterfall, there is a green hiking trail that will lead you to the attractive grassy part of Kvetnica with the disappearing mountain lake of the same name.
The lake and the waterfall can be reached via marked hiking trails. The starting point can be Tatranská Polianka (approx. 4 km), Starý Smokovec (approx. 7 km), Popradské pleso or Tatranské zruby. The Silesian House itself is also visited by a taxi at regular intervals from Tatranská Polianka.
