Beautiful peak of Veľká Javorina is the highest peak of the White Carpathians. The state border between Slovakia and the Czech Republic crosses it. In addition to the beautiful nature and tranquility, other attractions await you. The peak itself is decorated by the transmitter Veľká Javorina, as well as Jelenec Lookout Tower, which will show you this beautiful place from a bird's eye view.

In summer, the hill is a popular tourist destination. There are several hiking trails that start in Stará Turá (about 10 km), in Poriadie or in Lubin. Lovers of mountain biking will also be pleased. The 9 km long cycling route leads from Lubina through Hrnčiarová to Veľká Javorina.

In winter, the slopes of this hill come to life and become a paradise for winter sports. There is probably the most well-known ski resort in the White Carpathians, which bears the name Veľká Javorina. The resort provides ideal conditions for family skiing, beginners as well as advanced.

The Slovak side of Veľká Javorina also has several mountain cottages. Probably the most famous and one of the oldest mountain cottages in Slovakia, which is open to the public, is Holuby's cottage. If you get hungry during skiing or summer hikes, you can stop by for excellent deer goulash, gnocchi or other specialties.
