Veľký Kriváň (1,708 m above sea level) is the highest peak of Little Fatra. It is located on the main ridge of the Kriváň part of Little Fatra. It has a wonderful view of all cardinal points.
Veľký Kriváň can be reached from several places. Probably the most used route leads from Vrátna Valley (Vrátna hut) along the green marked hiking trail underneath the cable car to Snilovské Saddle and from there along the red trail to Veľký Kriváň.
Although the route is only about four kilometers long, we cannot say it is easy. Prepare yourself for a steep ascent that will take over 2 hours. On one hand, it will be exhausting, but on the other hand, you will enjoy the result experience much more than when you take a cable car.
A chairlift can be used instead of a pedestrian ascent to the Snilovské Saddle, which will make the tour an easy walk.
